About Insightiva Counselling

Insightiva Counselling is a professional counselling practice based in Langley, British Columbia, offering compassionate, ethical, and client-centred support to individuals, couples, and families.

I believe healing happens in a space where you feel safe, heard, and respected. Counselling is a collaborative process, and together we work to better understand your experiences, emotions, and patterns while developing practical tools to support meaningful and lasting change.

My approach is grounded in trauma-informed care, self-compassion, and resilience-building. Whether you are navigating anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship challenges, or life transitions, counselling can help you reconnect with your strengths and move forward with clarity and confidence.

About me

I bring over 30 years of professional experience working within health care acute and trauma settings, child protection, and corrections. This background has provided me with a strong understanding of medical and legal systems, as well as extensive experience supporting individuals and families through complex and high-stress situations.

I am a Registered Social Worker with the BC College of Social Workers (BCCSW). I completed my Bachelor of Social Work at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario, and my Master of Social Work, specializing in Health Care, at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

My work is grounded, compassionate, and collaborative. I support clients with anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, caregiver stress, system navigation, and life transitions—walking alongside you as you strengthen coping strategies, clarify goals, and feel empowered in addressing your needs.

My Approach

I take a thoughtful, pragmatic, and strengths-based approach to counselling. Sessions are paced with care and tailored to your unique needs, goals, and lived experiences.

I draw from evidence-based practices including:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

  • Motivational Interviewing

  • Mindfulness and somatic techniques

  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy

  • Narrative and strengths-based approaches

  • Trauma-informed and anti-oppressive practice

This integrative approach supports emotional regulation, nervous system awareness, insight, and resilience while honouring your autonomy and personal journey.
